RE:Imagining a sustainable future

Can you imagine a world with less waste, more sustainability and better skills?

RE: looks at preserving the future through upcycling, refurbishing and reimagining. Taking products and materials that would otherwise go to landfill, RE: gives them a new lease of life. Turning them into practical, useful items that sustain our way of living while preserving the environment.

Let’s be a society that RE:uses, RE:cycles and RE:shapes.

Be the RE:volution

Founded by the School of Events, Enterprise and Employability and Capital Projects.

RE: equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to create unique, handmade and sustainable products. Our students are assigned live briefs which allow them to see, at first hand, the impact their work has on the community.

Our aim is to become a centre of excellence for green skills development and waste reduction, and to be a leader in developing circular economies and sustainable practices. Our workshop services cover all areas of a product’s life cycle to ensure we maximise its potential lifespan and beyond.

Peak into our space

Our Mabgate campus opened for the first time in September 2022.

Previously a furniture factory before becoming an empty, derelict warehouse, we upcycled the space to create exciting new learning environments with a sustainable and industrial theme. Shaking up the traditional learning setting and putting an emphasis on creativity and wellbeing.
