Temple Newsam Open Event

Home to the School of Animal Care & Land Management, Home Farm at Temple Newsam houses our animal care courses. One of the largest working rare breed farms in Europe, students gain hands-on experience raising and caring for animals.

Temple Newsam Campus

  • Classrooms in the Tudor-Jacobean Temple Newsam House
  • 200 acres consisting of parks, lakes, gardens and ancient woodland
  • Home Farm - one of the largest Rare Breed Survival Trust (RBST) farms in Europe
  • Animal Care Centre - houses approximately 50 species of small animal
  • Victorian glass house with walled garden including herbaceous borders and a beautiful rhododendron walk
  • Campus bus service - for college students only, this runs directly from the bus station and costs £5 per week. For learners on bursary this would be free
