Leeds City College has been awarded an Ofsted grade of ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features, following its latest inspection in February.
The college’s provision for learners with high needs, its 14+ Apprenticeship Academy and student development, behaviour and welfare were among the areas awarded ‘outstanding’ for their overall effectiveness.
Inspectors were particularly impressed with the range of industry standard, innovative resources available and the high quality and expertise of teachers.
The report highlights the college’s inclusive environment ‘where all are welcome and diverse lifestyles and cultures are celebrated.’
Bill Jones, Deputy CEO at Leeds City College, said: “I’m absolutely delighted with our results. It’s testament to the hard work, dedication, commitment and the belief staff and students have put into the college. I would like to thank every single one of them for their efforts.
“We stand for passion, respect, celebrating individuals, aspirations, inspiring journeys and collaborative approaches; values that are reflected in every classroom and corridor and I’m proud to be part of such a transformative and innovative institution.”
