Leeds City College’s Enterprise and Employability department was shortlisted for a National Enterprise Educators Award (NEEA) and attended a glittering ceremony in Glasgow.
The team was nominated for the accolade in the FE Team Enterprise category, which rewards staff delivering exceptional enterprise or entrepreneurship education.
This honour recognised the college’s annual Enterprise Festival that takes place at Leeds Trinity Shopping Centre. The event showcases student skills and excellence including creative arts performances, children’s activities, art and exhibition displays and much more.
Karen Johnson, Head of Enterprise at Leeds City College, said: “We’re so proud of all of our talented students who made this happen. To be nominated for an award is testament to their hard work and skills they have developed to put on this fantastic event.
“The Enterprise Festival gives prospective students a chance to see our courses in action and a real flavour of work experience. We’re looking forward to the next event which will be even bigger and better.”
The winning team was part of Welsh college, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, with a project sharing best practice in Thailand.
