College Life

An education is more than just subject learning and qualifications. At Leeds City College you will do more than study your course. With our programme of enrichment activities, social areas and pastoral support, coming to college is a rich and interesting experience that will see you gain skills and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Enrichment opportunities

Individual departments may run trips and activities to enhance your course learning. You can find out more about these on the individual department pages. But there’s more to college than your classes and there are plenty of enrichment activities, trips, events and volunteering opportunities on offer, all designed to help you make the most of your time with us.

You can find out more about the activities, groups and societies at Leeds City College on the Leeds City College Student Union (LCCSU) website.

Progression

College is an important step on your education journey – it can be your route to university, onto an apprenticeship or into employment. While you’re here we want you to enjoy your course, develop your skills and learn all you can, but we also care about what happens next. Our Careers Service is here to help you plan and prepare for your post-college move. From working out what you might do next, based on your interests and skills, to applying for jobs, university or apprenticeships, the Careers Service is here for you.

Explore more on the Careers Service page or take advantage of our drop-in sessions at Quarry Hill, Park Lane and Printworks campuses. Or to book a careers guidance appointment, email studentadvice@leedscitycollege.ac.uk.

Support

We all need a little help at some time in our lives and here at college we have a wide range of different support systems. From study worries to personal concerns, our staff are here to help.

You can seek support from your tutor or a trusted member of staff, or contact our Wellbeing Team who can offer a listening ear or signpost you to available help.

Our four-legged friends

Support here at Leeds City College comes in many forms, from financial to pastoral and academic to wellbeing. Did you know though, it also comes in furry forms too! Jeffrey, Molly and Henry are our therapy dogs. Based at Quarry Hill (Jeffrey), Park Lane (Molly) and the Joseph Priestley Centre and Vine (Henry), our furry friends offer a helping paw when you need it.
