A levels and GCSEs Courses at Leeds City College
At Leeds Sixth Form, you will be provided with a range of support and additional activities to help you achieve and maximise your potential.
As an A level student with us, you will have an allocated academic coach. You will meet them at least three times a year to review your progress, discuss aims and aspirations, and agree meaningful targets and support. We also have second year A level student leaders, who will act as mentors in particular subjects to share the benefits of their first year experience with you.
Time is made available within your timetable for Peer Study Groups. These allow you to share ideas and support each other in your subjects.
If you’re an A level student following a three A level programme you will benefit from an initial 12 week, timetabled Elevate workshops. These help you to acquire the academic skills and behaviours to successfully ‘bridge the gap’ between GCSE and A level study.
Weekly ‘Aspire’ workshops are available to all students. These may be used to support you on a group basis with particular aspects of the subject, or as drop-in help sessions with subjects, study, revision and exam stress.
If you are experiencing particular difficulties with your studies whilst here or if you have wider issues affecting progress you can access more intensive and specialised one to-one support from our dedicated academic coaches and our student wellbeing manager.
