This programme will allow you to work as a warehousing operative. A warehouse operative works as part of a team in a logistical department and will be responsible for the movement and storage of goods.

Course Information

With this apprenticeship, you will work in a varied environment to complete a wide range of tasks. Duties will depend on the employer but may involve managing stock, preparing goods for dispatch, processing returned items and operating machinery. In some circumstances, you may also need to know how to manage and store hazardous materials.

Warehouse Operative

As a warehouse operative you will pack and process orders by picking correct items from stock. In addition, you will ensure all ordered products are dispatched on time and will learn how to operate machinery.

    Will employers just use me for the jobs they do not want to do?

    No, you may start your apprenticeship completing basic tasks, but the whole point of your apprenticeship is to develop into a well-rounded member of staff. We will meet with your employer every eight weeks to make sure that they are supporting your development.

    Will I earn less money doing an apprenticeship rather than working full-time?

    The apprenticeship national minimum wage is currently £3.90 per hour, however, many employers offer more than this for their positions, as they want to attract high-quality candidates to their company. Every vacancy lists how much the wage is, so be sure to check these carefully to make sure that you are happy with how much the employer is offering.
