This Level 2 course enables you to work as a teaching assistant or support worker in a school or college. You will learn about the role of the teaching assistant as part of a professional team and before progressing to volunteering in a school two mornings a week. The first four weeks of introductory modules are free for all learners.

Course Information

You will study an array of relevant modules such as safeguarding, child development, behaviour management and the role of the teaching assistant, in preparation for progression. You will be assessed via an online portfolio of work. This programme is suitable for 19+ learners with internet access who have an interest in teaching.

Once you have applied, we will carry out a short skills assessment and signpost to other courses if this is not the appropriate course for your needs.

Fee: Free for unemployed adults who are UK residents. It is available for other adults but charges may apply.

Entry Requirements

You will need to hold a Level 1 English qualification and will need to have no criminal record.

Progression may include the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching qualification, an apprenticeship or employment.
