Course Information

How will you study?

Study using a combination of classroom and online learning, or Study the whole course online.

You will be assessed to check that the course is suitable for your needs. You will agree an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with your teacher who will give you feedback on your progress throughout the course. You can work at your own pace on topics that meet your individual targets. You will also work independently using a range of online resources provided by your teacher.

Fee: Free for adults who do not already have a GCSE Functional Skill qualification at level 2. Payment will be required for those who already have a minimum of a GCSE grade C or 4 or above.

Entry Requirements

You will need IT skills and enough English and maths knowledge to learn online. Once you have applied, you will complete a short skills assessment so we can offer you the appropriate course for your needs.

Career Progression

Progression will depend on the qualification you have achieved. A Functional Skills qualification in English and maths will lead to progression to GCSE level or improve your employment prospects.
