Be prepared to undertake riot training, outdoor pursuits, army assault courses, visit barracks and experience drop-ins from prison officers and dog handlers as part of this course.

You will develop your own leadership style and practice working in teams to solve problems and manage projects.

You will meet and work with personnel currently serving in the sector and participate in various public service fitness tests.

How you will be assessed

There are no exams, you will be assessed through coursework.

Assessment methods include assessments, projects, coursework, case studies and observations of practical exercises.

Where is the course delivered (facilities / classrooms)

The course is delivered at Leeds City College Quarry Hill Campus.  Many of your lessons take place in classrooms but you will also be expected to visit places of interest outside of college to enhance what you learn about in the classroom.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or C or above including English and maths or a Level 2 Diploma in Public Services. If you do not have these grades contact us and we can find an alternative public services course.
