You will develop your own leadership style and practice working in teams to solve problems and manage projects.
You will meet and work with personnel currently serving in the public services sector and participate in various public service fitness tests.
There are no exams, you will be assessed through coursework.
Assessment methods include assessments, projects, coursework, case studies and observations of practical exercises.
The course is delivered at Leeds City College Quarry Hill Campus. Many of your lessons take place in classrooms but you will also be expected to visit places of interest outside of college to enhance what you learn about in the classroom.
A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or C or above including English and maths or a Level 2 Diploma in Public Services. If you do not have these grades contact us and we can find an alternative public services course.
After completing the course you will be able to apply for positions in one of the uniformed or non-uniformed public service including:
- Armed Forces
- Dog Handlers
- Administration roles in the public services
- Emergency call handlers
- Prison Service
- Probationary Service
- Customs and Border Control
Alternatively or you may choose to progress onto an apprenticeship or a degree.
