The course will include:
Fitness- Develop training programmes, understand training methods and boot camp style training sessions.
Nutrition- Food preparation, understanding diet and preparing healthy meals.
Teamwork- Understanding team roles, participate in practical team tasks and discuss team structures with the armed forces.
Military Preparation- Participate in drill, uniform preparation, presentation and hygiene in the field.
Swimming- Improve swimming techniques and confidence in the water, participate in military style swimming sessions and meet the required target.
Volunteering- Learn about the local community and social action projects that will further students’ understanding of the armed forces in the community.
Students will be assessed through written assignments, practical demonstrations, peer assessment and tutor assessments.
All students are required to have a genuine interest in joining the armed forces. A reference from your previous place of education would be desirable. Students need to have 2 GCSE’s at grade 2 including English and Maths.
Throughout the duration of the course, you will meet a variety of armed forces and they will support you in selecting your chosen service. They will provide extensive careers talks and meet to discuss the application process. Our aim is to have all students in their selected armed force by the end of the course.
