This course is delivered at Quarry Hill Campus.
4x Grade 4/Cs at GCSE including English at 4/C. Maths @ D/3 will be considered depending on full GCSE profile
Successful interview and demonstration of appropriate sector care values.
To complete the course successfully you must be able and willing to independently complete a minimum number of social action and/or work experience hours within a relevant health and social care setting.
All candidates must be committed to working in the Health and Social Care sector, be caring, creative and energetic, have a sense of humour and a lively and outgoing personality.
To work with children (under 18) or vulnerable adults, students will need to complete an enhanced disclosure check for the Disclosure and Barring Services. The college will organise this for you but if your course is not fully funded (ie; you are not 16-18 or on certain benefits) then you will have to pay. The estimated cost of the DBS Check is £54. Full details regarding payment and documents required will be provided prior to enrolment
You will receive advice on careers and further study during your course. After successful completion of the course you can choose to:
Apply for an apprenticeship or traineeship in Health and Social Care/Clinical Support Work.
Apply for a level 3 course in Health and Social Care or Childcare.
Apply for other level 3 courses.
