These qualifications are aimed at practising or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner. The primary role of managers is to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with organisational strategy. 

Role and responsibilities may also include but are not limited to developing teams and individuals, creating operational plans, planning and managing projects, managing change, managing finance, resources and identifying new approaches to business activities, managing quality and continuous improvement as well as managing the human resources function. The qualifications have been designed for practising or aspiring managers in roles such as:

Providing an overview of the roles and responsibilities required for managers, the award will develop the skills required for this level.

What you will study

Learners must complete at least one unit to a minimum of 40 Total Unit Time (TUT) hours (6 weeks) to achieve this qualification.

Entry Requirements

This level 5 qualification can be offered to candidates from the age of 21. It is expected that candidates applying for this level of qualification will have the relevant occupational experience to assist them in their studies.

What's Next

On successful completion of the Level 5 Award in Management and Leadership it is possible to continue studies to achieve the certificate, diploma or extended diploma or to progress to qualifications at the next level – Level 7.
