You are required to take 3 core units and 2 optional modules:
- Management in Procurement and Supply (core)
- Managing Risks in Supply Chains (core)
- Improving the Competitiveness of Supply Chains (core)
- Category Management in Procurement and Supply (option)
- Sustainability in Supply Chains (option)
- Operations Management (option)
The Advanced Diploma focuses on cost reduction and added value of purchases and supplies, improving timescales and stock control, management and innovation in the procurement and supply process, and developing legal and risk management

CIPS qualifications are assessed by a 3 hour exam for each module. All CIPS modules are currently assessed by CIPS externally assessed exams and you may take exams in November, January, March, May and July either here at the College or another exam centre if it is more convenient for you.
This course is delivered at the Printworks Campus.
Potential Students should have achieved the CIPS level 4 Foundation Diploma or the CIPS L4 Diploma or be formally exempted from it by the Institute. Alternatively they should hold the CIPS (international) Advanced Certificate in Purchasing and Supply.
Exemptions for individual modules may be granted by the institute on demonstration of relevant qualifications or modules taken at degree level. Only CIPS may grant exemptions and you will need to contact them direct.
On achievement of the CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (L5), you can proceed to study the CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (L6) at Leeds City College.
