This course enables you to experience a wide range of backstage roles in the theatre and is designed for students wishing to make their career in the theatre or related industries. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills with real production experience of the backstage roles that are essential for the staging of a successful performance. You will gain insight into the different career paths available in this busy and exciting industry and you will build a portfolio of work to showcase your talents for future educational or employment opportunities
To achieve your level 2 qualification you will need to complete 7 mandatory units during your full-time 1 year programme of study. The course is accredited by BTEC and you will be assessed through a variety of different methods.
Quarry Hill Campus: new state-of-the art backstage facilities including technical workshops, large tech box, production meeting room, theatre and studios.
Students should have a minimum of four 3s at GCSE including English.
The course can lead on to our Level 3 Theatre Design & Production course, an apprenticeship or employment.
It prepares learners for work or an apprenticeship by giving them the opportunity to develop sector specific knowledge, technical and practical skills, and to apply these skills in work-related environments.
