This Level 2 qualification is assessed via a combination of internal assessment, where tasks are set and marked by your tutors, and external assessment which includes a written exam/test.
You will develop skills in a wide range of dance disciplines through working in small and large groups, as well as independently. The course gives you the opportunity to work on the disciplines you want to concentrate on and you will also work alongside a technical team, costume, performance team and hair and make-up students providing you with the required skills to progress onto a level 3 dance or performing arts course.
From September 2019 Creative Arts courses will be delivered at our new campus at Quarry Hill.
You need to be 16 or over and have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D. If you are part of the new grading system for GCSE we would see a Grade 3 or above as the equivalent of a Grade D in this offer.
Practical/creative skills are to be of a good level.
All applicants will attend an audition and interview at the Park Lane Campus.
Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto a Level 3 course in Dance, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts. This will equip you to go on to university, dance school or into the professional industry.
