Develop your knowledge of the Travel and Tourism industry helping you to choose the career you would like whether that is cabin crew, in travel and tourism services or as a resort representative.

Customer service will be integral to every pathway and will underpin your modules throughout. You will learn how to communicate effectively and there will be opportunities throughout the course to build on your personal/social development, confidence and presentation skills.

There will be opportunities throughout the course to build on your personal and social development, confidence and presentation skills. You will have the opportunity to take part in a number of visits and will benefit from guest speakers.

As part of this course you will also undertake a one week work placement.

How you will be assessed

You are continually assessed throughout the course with one-to-one tutorials to check on your progress. There will be a range of different assessment techniques used throughout the course. This could include assignment reports, presentations, role-plays and interviews.

Entry requirements

You will normally need to have at least one of the following: At least 1 GCSE at grade C, preferably in English. A standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to at least 2 GCSEs at grade D and 1 at grade C. Alternatively if you have completed the Level 1 Travel and Tourism qualification you can apply for this course.

What's next

Provided you achieve at least merit grades, you can go on to one of our level 3 courses. You could progress on to the Travel and Tourism Level 3 City and Guilds Professional two year diploma.

You could also progress on to the European Work Placement programme which leads directly to a season working overseas as a campsite courier/rep.

In addition to these options at Leeds City College you can apply directly for work.
