Benefits / Skills you will develop

You will build your confidence as a chef or as front of the house. You will also gain the skills required to serve food and drink within the versatile hospitality industry.

You will learn the professional art of cocktail making, wine tasting, barista skills, high level service skills including the art of theatre cooking i.e flambéing. You will put your theory into practice in a real restaurant environment as you serve diners as part of the Student Spotlight pop-up restaurant. You will also have the opportunity to sell your creations in our Student Shop.

How you will be assessed

You will be continually assessed through practical observation, short answer question exams and assignments.

Your tutor you will be on hand throughout this course to support you.

Entry requirements

Students are required to have an interest in the subject and ideally a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade D or above.

You will need to be determined, passionate and driven about food and drink service and a commitment to deliver exceptional customer service.

You may have to undertake English and Maths alongside this course if you do not have the required grades.

 

 

What's next

After successfully completing this course you will be able to progress on to our Hospitality, Supervision and Leadership Diploma Level 3, an apprenticeship with one of our many employers, or relevant employment.
