You will develop the academic skills, knowledge and understanding to enable you to progress to University and pursue a professional career of your choice.
Students are assessed using different methods; these include real work experience and work projects, presentations, report writing, discussions and debates. All work is internally moderated and externally moderated by assessors from the awarding body Certa.
This course is delivered at our Printworks Campus.
You must be 19 years of age by 1st September in the year the course starts.
Students must hold a level 2 pass in English and maths before enrolling onto an Access to HE course. This would be an A-C in GCSE’s or Level 2 functional skills. If a student with level 2 functional skills wishes to study a GCSE alongside their Access to HE course they can, but we would recommend only one due to the demands of both courses. Those students without a pass at level two can be supported to achieve these qualifications though our GCSE and Step Up programmes before enrolling on their Access to HE Course.
The Diploma is designed for access to many H.E. courses both locally and nationally. Previous students have been given places on a variety of courses at different universities for e.g. Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Events Management.
Following your application to an Access HE course you are strongly advised to research the individual entry requirements for the HE courses and universities you wish to progress to.
