An Events Assistant apprenticeship is an entry level position, typically working within a team of people in an events company or within the events department of a larger organisation. The role would usually provide support to a number of Event Planners or Project Managers by carrying out a diverse range of tasks necessary to plan, organise and deliver an event.

Examples include: searching for the right location and venue for the event; working with the design team on the look and feel of the event; organising logistics like transportation and catering.

The events organised may be for the company where the Event Assistant is working, or could be for a variety of different clients including large corporations, smaller companies and not-for-profit organisations.

How you will be assessed

You will be assessed through an end point assessment that will take place at the end of your learning and development.

It will consist of an independent, end point assessment in the workplace.

 

Where is the course delivered (facilities / classrooms)

The framework is delivered in the workplace with additional group workshop sessions taking place on a regular basis at the college.  Apprentices will be visited once a month in the workplace and delivery will take place on a one to one basis.  It is recommended that at least 2 hours per week is spent away from the working role to concentrate on any development activities set.

Entry requirements

Individual employers will identify entry requirements in terms of previous qualifications, training or other criteria. Most candidates will have Level 2 Maths and English (equivalent to GCSE grade 4/5 or C or above), ideally as part of 5 GCSE A-C grades or other comparable qualifications.

Apprentices without English or Maths at Level 2 must achieve this prior to the completion of the apprenticeship.
