During this year, you will be studying the remaining mandatory units:
Unit 5 - Principles and Applications of Science II,
Unit 6 - Investigative Project
Unit 7 - Contemporary Issues in Science.
Plus the remaining 4 optional units.
There are two externally assessed units, unit 5 and unit 7 and the remaining units are assessed via coursework, practical assessments and presentations.
Complete Foundation Diploma.
5 GCSE’s at 4 or C and above, including Maths, English and Science.
A Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science will gain you access to many University courses. In fact, 95% of Universities accept this qualification.
If you know what you would like to study in future, check the course requirements by looking at University websites or www.ucas.com You can progress to degree courses in Medical Science, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Radiotherapy, Biochemistry and many more. Remember to check the GCSE requirements too, to make sure you meet these.
You may also choose to apply for a Foundation Degree, either at University or one of those offered by our HE department at Leeds City College.
