GCSE English Online
The application deadline for this is course is 09 Sep 2016. We are unable to accept further assessments after this date
This course follows the new GCSE English syllabus; an exciting online course designed for those with busy lives who may find it difficult to attend a class every week.
All learning takes place online but is facilitated by a highly experienced GCSE teacher to support you. Learning materials are based on new exam content and are uploaded on a weekly basis as units in Google classroom.
Students are expected to complete weekly tasks on reading and writing, based on the materials given by the tutor. You will send your work back to the tutor electronically, who will mark and give feedback and return it in the same manner. Attendance is counted in terms of submission of work each week.
Essentially, students can study towards GCSE English at a time that suits them and not attend college other than to take the exams. Any student wanting face-to-face support can request this at any time to meet the course teacher based in Leeds, LS7.
Students will need to be at Level 2 English, or have gained a D or an E in GCSE English before. Spaces are limited so please register early. You may enrol to this course from anywhere in the UK but the final exams will take place in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Download the English Assessment document here. You must complete this on your own and without any help. When completed, email it as an attachment to EnfieldCentre@leedscitycollege.ac.uk. We will let you know if the GCSE English Online course is appropriate for you.
The £100 registration fee is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled so please complete the assessment first.
If you already have a C at GSCE English, or are under 16 years old such as home-schooled learners, then the full cost of the course is £400.
