The course is designed to give the beginner a good grounding in welding theory and practice, with a focus on creating artistic products from scrap metal. Lots of practical training using mostly the MIG welding process. This course will give you the opportunity to create metal art and develop the skills to design your own in the future.

Ideally you will have completed the introduction to welding first.

What you will study

Using tools such as: MIG welders Angle Grinders Cut-off Saw Pillar drill Brazing equipment Oxy propane torch Plasma cutter and many hand tools


The course will be mainly hands-on, working on machines in the college’s extensive workshops.

You will gain in-depth knowledge on how to develop your ideas and how to create metal art features.
