What you learn

A range of stitches, threads, needles, fabrics and basic attachments will be used to create different decorative effects such as: simple machine embroidery techniques, basic sewing techniques such as zips, piping and seams as used in soft furnishings and dressmaking, as well as an introduction to simple patchwork skills.

How you will be assessed

The course is accredited by creating an assessed portfolio of work. The samples created need to be documented and presented.

Entry requirements

This course is for beginners as it will give them an understanding of how to use a sewing machine to create a finished item.
