This course is recommended for those with no previous or limited experience in IT or for those with low confidence in using digital literacy. It is ideal for those that may have to start using IT in order to complete online processes to access their own personal forms and to make claims such as Universal Credit. 

It covers the basics of IT and how technology can assist in the digital world.

  • Searching for information
  • Connecting to emails to receive messages
  • Online forms, completion and verify process
  • Social media awareness
  • Confidence in applying new skills to help in the digital world
  • Accessing Universal Credit’s online form and video
  • Awareness of how employers use social networking to advertise jobs

How you will be assessed

No formal assessment will be made prior to the course starting but the tutor will assess students on the first session.

Where is the course delivered (facilities / classrooms)

The course is delivered at various sites across Leeds.

Entry requirements

Students should be at entry 2 or above in English and for those that have English as a second language they should be at entry 3 or above.
