This course provides you with the key knowledge, skills and understanding that would be needed by a new employee in an administrative job role.
Whilst you are studying, you will look at how an office is organised and gain confidence in helping other people as part of a team.
You will learn:
- how to create business documents
- make and receive telephone calls
- welcome visitors
- use emails professionally
- organise meetings and business events
- organise business travel
- manage a diary
You will also learn the basics of handling money within an office environment including processing petty cash and paying invoices.
The programme will provide you with the fundamentals of business and office administration which will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for future study and will prepare you for any future examinations.
Assessment is through a portfolio work and practical assignments. Your course teacher will guide you through the assignment criteria for each area of study and make sure you are prepared to achieve your best.
Students wishing to enrol to this programme need to have a genuine interest in business and office administration, a good level of English and maths, be able to use IT equipment and have basic computer literacy. You must be able to work independently and to agreed deadlines.
You will be interviewed to ascertain your suitability for the programme.
