Chloe Burkinshaw - Business Administration Apprenticeship
Just over six months into her apprenticeship, Chloe is certainly making an impression.
As one of nine apprentices to start a Business Administration apprenticeship with West Yorkshire Police in September 2014, Chloe works in the finance department at headquarters in Wakefield – a team which services a number of regional police forces.
Line Manager Claire Mc Dermott said that Chloe has “provided a breath of fresh air” to the office, she is “young, fresh and enthusiastic” and that “she gets on with everybody.”
Chloe, 17, is equally happy with how her apprenticeship is turning out - “it is great, I really enjoy it,” she said, adding she’s already recommended the training route to friends.
Chloe opted for an apprenticeship after completing a Health and Social Care course and realising that it was not the career path for her.
She felt going into the workplace would be better, enabling her to get experience and to see how an organisation works while getting paid.
Her apprenticeship has seen her work in the Payments and Revenues department and she is now working in the Management Accounting department. Her experience, to date, includes dealing and validating invoices from a variety of companies and handling enquiries.
After her apprenticeship, Chloe is looking forward to getting a job and doing an ATT qualification.
