“I made sure that the students had fun in the kitchen; when you have happy staff, it comes across on the plate. Overall, it was a great experience for me to galvanise the next generation of chefs and give them some inspiration to take away.”
Printworks Kitchen and Bar will replace The Food Academy as the college’s state-of-the-art training restaurant, providing commercial and catering experience to hundreds of students.
Elaine Chambers, Retail Operations Manager, said: “The new restaurant is equipped to give students and apprentices the best start in their food and hospitality journey. We have revolutionised the menu to reflect a contemporary dining offer and prepare our apprentices and students with the complex skills they will need to prosper in the industry.
