Beauty Therapy student, Jennifer Seaman, has secured a job on a cruise liner with global provider of spa services, Steiner Leisure Ltd, following successful completion of her course. We caught up with her to find out more.
“Prior to doing this course, I studied Level 2 Beauty at Leeds City College. I knew this was the career I wanted to pursue so I progressed to the Level 3 Beauty Therapy course. This was perfect for developing my skills and definitely helped me secure my role at Steiner.”
What did you do to get the job?
“For my interview with Steiner, I took part in a trade test to demonstrate my level of practical skills by completing a variety of treatments to the required level. Soon after, I was offered a position as an on-board Beauty Therapist travelling around the Caribbean in the first class Spa.”
How was your time at Leeds City College?
“I have really enjoyed my time at college as it has allowed me to develop my skills further. I have gained valuable experience participating in commercial sessions, conducting both face and body electrical treatments on external clients to develop confidence and professionalism. One of my highlights was completing an epilation training day and gaining certification in this specialist area.”
What’s next for you?
“I will now be heading to London with Steiner, to attend training with the many professional beauty companies that word on-board. This will take between six to eight weeks. I will then be flying to America or the Caribbean to board the ship I have been allocated to work as a Beauty Therapist.
“I am very excited and feel privileged to be given this opportunity to travel and gain invaluable experience for my future.”
