About A-Levels

A-Levels are the most popular route into higher education in the UK. People usually study A-Levels aged 16 – 18, but we welcome applications from all students.

Most people study three subjects at A-Level (sometimes four).

Each A-Level is four ‘units’ of study completed over two years. You study half of the course in Year 1 and if you pass, you are awarded an AS-Level qualification. You study the remaining units for each subject in Year 2 and if you pass, you are awarded a full A-Level.

Our A-Level students are well prepared for university, because we encourage independent study. Approximately 500 students are studying for A-Levels with us and in 10/11 we had a 93% pass rate.

Past students have joined top-ranking universities, including the University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University, Oxford, York, Leicester, The London School of Economics, Glasgow and Newcastle.
