CRAIG BUSBY

Is the Head of Management and Professional Studies, based at our Park Lane Campus. Craig is a bit of business ‘Guru’ and could give Alan Sugar a run for his money! He is a total rugby nut and enjoys managing, coaching, watching (and formerly playing) his favourite sport. Craig enjoys ‘the good life’ and has recently started to breed sheep and keep chickens. He is a traditional Cornishman but try not to hold that against him – not everyone is lucky enough to be born in Yorkshire!

LORRAINE HEWITT

Is the Programme Leader for Children’s Care, Learning and Development, based at our Enfield Centre. Lorraine is a mum and animal lover – she loves all animals except spiders, which make her scream! As a former Olympic gymnast, Lorraine still regularly judges competitions and assists with training and techniques. Lorraine is a successful property developer who enjoys buying and renovating properties with her husband.

MARK JACKSON

Is the Head of Football, based at our Horsforth Campus. Mark LOVES football, which is why we quoted him as saying he, “Eats football, sleeps football, breathes football and plays football.” Mark is a proud football player and spectator – he currently plays for Farsley AFC and is also the Clubs Assistant Manager. Mark holds a UEFA B Coaching Licence, and is a former professional player, having played for Leeds Utd, Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Kidderminster and Rochdale. Outside of football Mark is a family man, he makes a great pilaf and dislikes Corrie!

PETER HIGGINSON

Is the Programme Manager for Hospitality and Catering, based at our Thomas Danby Campus. Peter has current links with industry and still works as a respected chef. Having previously worked in Michelin starred restaurants and alongside several acclaimed chefs, there is nothing better than eating a meal prepared by Peter! Outside the kitchen Peter has shares in a racehorse, is passionate about (fast) cars and he’s a fully signed up adrenalin junkie who lists bungee jumping and abseiling as his hobbies.

Teaches Joinery within the Construction and Landbased Studies team at our Keighley Campus. A true Yorkshireman, Ian is Keighley through and through. He is a father of two and loves nothing more than watching and playing cricket (badly).

EMMA BARROW

Is a GCSE Science Tutor, based at our Park Lane Campus. As a fully qualified scientist Emma LOVES blowing things up and enjoys teaching lively classes that bring science to life! Sporty Emma cycles to work every day, runs regularly and plays in midfield for Leeds Lacrosse – she has also represented the North of England at territorial tournaments. As a Lacrosse umpire Emma officiates at matches throughout the UK and across Europe as she is training to be a future international umpire.

Is a Beauty Therapy Tutor, based at our Keighley Campus. Caroline absolutely loves Christmas and spiders? She Keeps pygmy goats, shows ponies and is scared of mice. Caroline is a married mother of two children and two cats (Coco + Chanel). She dislikes cooking and wishes she had her own personal chef!

Is a dance lecturer based at our Park Lane Campus. Briony founded the Leeds City College Dance Collective and continues to shape and develop their work, currently preparing a performance for the WorldsSkills Conference in London. Briony also recently completed her Masters in Performance Studies at the University of Leeds.

Is a Community Manager, based at Deacon House in Leeds. Nigel is an Author and loves writing short stories; he also enjoys baking and is an accomplished mountaineer (he has climbed Snowden!). Nigel is a bit of an entertainer and dabbles in stand-up comedy and singing. He is also a proud father and has a son who plays for the Leeds United Youth Team.

Andrew Scanlan, Head of Motor Vehicle

Andrew is a man of many talents. He has two sons and enjoys Rugby and Cricket. From aged 13 to 32 he played many sports, some professionally before retiring due to injuries! Andrew has progressed from working in Germany as a Bricky as a young lad to developing a career in Construction. Andrew has built several houses including an award winning glass house. He has a passion for education and works as an Ofsted inspector.

Sandy Shaw, IT & Business Tutor

Sandy is a member of a motorbike/touring bike club called the 'Yorkies'. Sandy and her partner enjoy meeting up with the 80+ Yorkie members and travelling all over the country on their bikes. Sandy enjoys fancy dress and many of the Yorkie adventures are themed to add a little more fun to her road trips! Sandy really enjoys decorating in her spare time and regularly holidays to Greece.
