Health and Well-being

Academic pressure

Parental divorce or separation
Relationship difficulties
Peer pressure
Work related stress
Drugs and/or alcohol
Anxiety / Depression

The sessions are 50 minutes long and following the assessment this is where the counsellor and user agree initially on the number of sessions required (up to 6 in the first instance).

The counsellor takes care to ensure that counselling remains confidential, subject to the limits of confidentiality. These limits are displayed in the confidentiality agreement in the counselling rooms and include if a person is of serious harm to themselves or others, acts of terrorism or any issues concerning child protection.

Well-being Service

Leeds City College is committed to the health and well-being of all its students and staff. As a student or staff member you are welcome to access the Well-being drop in sessions.

What are the Well-being drop-in sessions?

The Well-being drops in sessions are provided by our Counsellor and Well-being advisors and Student Liaison Officers across Leeds City College Campuses at various times each day. Please see poster link.

The sessions are:

an opportunity to discuss anything that may be causing you some distress and explore the support services that are available in college and / or external support agencies.
Give you a space where you feel you want to explore any health concerns such as stopping smoking, drugs, contraception (C-card registration is available) and also pregnancy testing.
