Public Services
At Leeds City College, the Public Services Department will teach you how to achieve the demanding mental and physical standards the modern public services need.
We offer courses at all levels combined with a wide range of other activities and training to help you make the grade.
Our tutors have extensive experience both in the public and uniformed services and in education. This includes work in the fire service, local government and armed forces.
Tutors grade your work at regular intervals and monitor your progress through tutorials – usually there are NO exams on these courses. However there are lots of hands-on learning experiences in this department, and the opportunity to work with lots of large external organisations who assist with your training.
In recent years, students have taken trips to the House of Commons, fought fires at Leeds Bradford International Airport, and had visits from real paramedics and professionals from
the armed forces.
