Get a real taste of the hospitality and food manufacturing industries from our diverse range of specialist courses, whether you want to work in a restaurant or hotel or focus your skills in craft baking, patisserie or butchery.
Courses are based at the College’s Thomas Danby Campus which holds National Skills Academy status for both Hospitality and Food & Drink Manufacture, recognising our excellence at a regional and national level in these areas.
We currently have three specialist departments in this field:
- Bakery
- Meat Technology
- Hospitality & Culinary Arts
You will learn your skills in a real industrial and professional environment – in one of the on-site training kitchens or bakeries, meat technology and food manufacturing department or state-of-the-art international kitchen – and put your knowledge into practice in the accompanying commercial outlets – bakery, butchers shop and our acclaimed restaurant Farthings.
Our highly qualified staff have a wealth of up-to-date industrial experience in the subject areas they teach and will work alongside you to help develop the relevant skills and knowledge required.
Your learning experience will be enhanced with the chance to work alongside the industries’ best through placements at Michelin-starred restaurants, hotel groups and leading food manufacturers as well as having the opportunity to travel aboard to add an international element to your skills and studies.
We are also involved in many high profile events and competitions from running demonstrations at food and drink festivals, cookalongs with celebrity chefs to charity dinners and black tie functions.
We also offer a range of part-time and leisure courses in food and cookery.
