The Counselling Department works with many organisations giving students invaluable experience. Counsellors work in a variety of settings, including schools, colleges, universities and hospitals, as well as in special services or agencies.
There are opportunities with organisations such as Relate, Cruse or special counselling services, so you can really make a difference.
Counselling training is relevant in other fields too, and these transferable skills could relates to careers in teaching, youth work, careers guidance, social work, church work, psychology, psychiatry, nursing and many aspects of medicine.
