Opportunities for working with children are expanding as the number of nurseries, out-of-school clubs and jobs involving contact with children continues to grow.

Leeds City College offers you the chance to gain qualifications and work experience and the opportunity to progress on to Higher Education courses including a Foundation Degree in Early Years.

You can qualify for a rewarding and worthwhile career working with children and become part of a highly skilled workforce, providing children with the best start in life. Students get experience using a variety of specialist equipment, including ‘Baby Reality Dolls’, designed to follow the patterns of a newborn baby… so catch up on your sleep now!

We offer full-time courses which lead to qualified nursery nurse status as well as 1 year preparatory courses which allow you to work as a nursery assistant. Our courses include work experience and students may also have opportunities to go on residential visits with local employers.

As well as being qualified tutors, our highly experienced childcare staff have previously worked professionally, for example as health professionals, teachers and nursery nurses.
