Spreading enterprise across the region

Led by Leeds City College, net315 provides college students with support, information and guidance to assist them starting their own businesses and becoming self employed.

The consortium of thirteen partners, who work together across Yorkshire and The Humber, consist of seven college and six specialist partners.

Together with the running of enterprise activities, colleges are offering physical space for students to attend workshops, hot desk and run their business. Specialist partners are offering mentoring services, workshops, virtual networking and enterprise related events and programmes running within and outside of the college network.

The overall aim of this project is to increase the number of successful, sustainable and growing businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber. This will be achieved by embedding the enterprise option into the curriculum of the colleges as well as providing business start up support to budding entrepreneurs.

The Targets

At the end of the three year funding we will have support 315 new sustainable businesses, created 515 jobs creating and increase of £9m GVA. 177 businesses will have contributed to a reduction in ecological footprint/waste.

Of the 315 businesses, 110 will be female owned and 50 from BAME community. 35 businesses will be created in the environmental sector.

Of the 515 jobs created, 188 will be filled by women and 144 from BAME community. 45 jobs will be created in the environmental sector.
