The Cookridge Street site started life as the Kitson College of Science and Engineering in the 1960s. Situated adjacent to Millennium Square, the site has always been the flagship Site of the former Kitson College / Leeds College of Technology, not least for its superb location.
The site has its own interesting history, having been the place where Pink Floyd wrote their Top-10 single See Emily Play in 1967, and also where The Who re-recorded two of their Live at Leeds tracks after being unhappy with the sound quality on the original University of Leeds recordings.
The building houses departments in Print, Media, Computing & IT, Business, Electronics, Entry Level and Health & Social Care, Electrical Installation.
We are open throughout the year; hours during term-time are:
8.30am – 9.00pm: Monday – Wednesday | 8.30am – 6.00pm: Thursdays | 8.30am – 5.30pm: Fridays
