The Featherbank Centre is a dedicated Art, Craft & Design centre for Adult and Community Education.
The Centre is a light spacious environment with specialist art and craft rooms and workshop facilities for all subjects. There is also a centre car park.
Leisure and short courses run throughout the year. Classes run at various times throughout the day and evening in a wide range of creative subjects, taught by professional practitioners.
Subjects offered at the Centre include:
Art History/ Calligraphy/ Computers/ Beadwork/ Costume Jewellery/ Jewellery / Sculpture / Pottery / Photography Digital/ Textiles / Sewing / Life Drawing / Interior Design / Furniture Restoration / Print Making / Stained Glass / General Crafts/ Flower Arranging / Knitting / EBay Buying & Selling / Family History.
A wide range of drawing and painting courses including watercolours acrylics and oil painting are also available.
There are 12 week courses starting in September and in January. From April, there are either 6 week courses (Tuesday – Friday) or 5 week courses (with a Monday bank holiday). In addition there are some ‘on location courses’ for Summer 2010.
All 2009/2010 courses are non-accredited courses. On going assessment and individual support is given by each tutor throughout the course.
