Leeds City College Property Strategy
Our NEW Printworks Campus
You may have read in the news that Leeds City College purchased the former Alf Cooke Printworks building (near Costco) on Hunslet Road in Leeds.
Work has already commenced to clear the site and building has now started. This is a very exciting time in the development of the Printworks site and our long term vision for improving our estates.
This historic building is to be renovated into a new vocational campus which will house a number of courses currently offered at Thomas Danby Campus on Roundhay Road.
During the spring/summer of 2013, the Hospitality & Catering, Food Manufacturing, and Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy departments currently based at Thomas Danby Campus will all relocate to the fantastic Printworks Campus.
The site will include commercial hair and beauty salons, a deli, bakery, butchers’ shop and restaurant, all open to the public.
Plans are then in place to close the Thomas Danby Campus in the summer of 2013. However, in the mean time, the Thomas Danby Campus continues function as normal.
Leeds City College will retain a presence in Roundhay Road after this time, with some key courses still offered at its Enfield Centre and Sports Centre.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our open events / tours of the fantastic new Printworks Campus as soon as dates are announced in 2013.
