Strategic links with local authorities, schools, businesses, voluntary and community groups, and a wide range of other organisations are highly effective at contributing to economic regeneration and meeting local needs… Excellent transition partnerships exist with schools.’ Ofsted 2012

apprenticeships

Leeds City College recognises the value of working in collaboration with schools, parent/carers and students in promoting opportunities and choices.

Working together the College will provide a range of opportunities for young people aged 14 -19 to access programmes and qualifications that are not traditionally available within their schools.

Programmes are offered from Foundation to Advanced Level, across all vocational areas, and include a range of GCSEs, A-Levels and 14+ Apprenticeships. These programmes are normally delivered on part time basis during the school day as part of the young person’s school timetable.

In September 2013, Year 10s will have the opportunity if they so wish to study full time at college and enrol with the college directly.

Students who attend Leeds City College will experience studying in a post-16 environment and become familiar with the concept of Work Related Learning whilst working with relevant industrial, state-of-the-art equipment and resources.

All programmes of study lead to a nationally recognised accredited qualification.*

*Special Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC)’s programmes may not be accredited.
