Pre-Season Starts for Leeds City College Football Academy

13 August 2010 | news archive

A new-look Leeds City College Football Academy kicked off their pre-season training on Friday, August 6 at the Horsforth Campus.

Prior to the session the players were introduced to Mark Jackson, who has been recruited as the new Head of Football at the College.

Sport Academy Manager Anthony Gallagher said: “It is great that we have managed to get Mark involved on more of a full time basis at the College. He has been a professional footballer for more than 15 years and has playing experience in the Premier League with Leeds United and the Championship with Scunthorpe. Mark has great contacts within the pro game and the lads will really enjoy working with him.

The players will now embark on four weeks of tough pre-season training before they have their first league fixture in Grimsby on Wednesday, September 8.
