Chef tutor Stephanie Moon served up a fine performance to scoop bronze in the national Chef of the Year competition.

Steph, who teaches at the College’s Thomas Danby Campus, was one of 10 finalists competing in the British Culinary Federation ‘Chef of the Year’, held in the live kitchen at Hotelympia, at London’s ExCel on Monday, March 1st.

As well as taking third place, she also won an award for the most hygienic chef.

Joining her as commis chef for the competition was Hospitality student Jack Wright, 17, who is currently studying a Level 3 Professional Cookery course at the College.

The day was amazing – a fantastic experience and really tough,” Steph said.
Jack did a great job and he worked hard and the food we produced looked worthy.
