Students Share Limelight With Look North Presenters
24 February 2010 | news archive
Trainee chefs from the College rubbed shoulders with BBC Local North presenters Christa Ackroyd and Harry Gration at a special event in the city to promote the forthcoming national Apprenticeship Awards.
Students Gemma Almond and Kyle Mear, who are both on hospitality courses at Thomas Danby Campus, joined the pair outside Leeds Town Hall to help encourage apprentices and their employers across the region to enter the awards, which are designed to celebrate apprentice achievements and the businesses which employ them.
Christa, a former apprentice, and Harry will also step out on stage to host the regional awards ceremony at Leeds Town Hall on May 20th where the lucky winners will go forward to represent Yorkshire and the Humber at the national finals held in London this summer.
Tutors and students from the College’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy will also be assisting on the night, having an input into the evening’s menu.
