Congratulations to two Leeds City College members of staff who were awarded MBEs in the New Year’s honours list.

Faruk Miah, who is Programme Manager at Brudenell Centre, for services to Further Education and to the community in Leeds.

Faruk was a finalist in the 2009 STAR Awards and has also been representing the College in promoting education in both the UK and overseas.

Terry Nelson (Terence Charles Nelson), a Security Officer at Park Lane Campus, for services to Further Education.

Terry was nominated for his work in supporting students, in particular ESOL students, and setting an example by his friendly and welcoming manner.
