A group of learners studying a communication course at Sangat Centre received recognition for their studies at a special presentation held today.
Ten Imams and mosque committee members were presented with certificates for completing a PCDL Communication for Imams course run by Keighley Campus of Leeds City College.
The 10 week course covered subjects including the education system in the UK, teaching methods, use of ICT, learning styles and Every Child Matters.
Course tutor Chris Hooper said: “Those who attended the course have found it very useful and informative.”
The group are now looking at progressing onto ESOL and ICT courses.
Keighley Campus has also recently finished running an introductory course for ESOL learners wishing to access childcare courses at the centre and new courses are currently being developed to run in early 2010.
