Students’ Work in the Frame

12 June 2012 | news archive

An exhibition opening its doors this week will provide visitors with a snapshot of the work of some budding photographers.

Level 1 photography students from Leeds City College’s Joseph Priestley Campus are inviting members of the public along to view a selection of images taken over the course of their studies.

More than 100 images are going on display in the Peel Street campus’ reception and main corridors as part of the special exhibition running from Wednesday (June 13th)-Thursday, June 21st.

An array of different photographs will be on display from faces and places to action shots, with some familiar local sights such as buildings and statues of Morley making an appearance.

Tutor Michael Dean said the exhibition, which is now in its third year, was an integral and important part of the course for students – each of who is showing a selection of their images – and was keen to encourage people to call in to see the work on show.

“Many were complete beginners when they started the course so this is a good experience for them to share their images, putting their work out there for others to see,” he said.

The exhibition is open daily (Monday-Friday) from 9am-4pm.
