Campus Looks Bloomin Lovely

5 October 2011 | news archive

Joseph Priestley Campus has scooped two awards for its bloomin’ lovely gardens.

PALS Tutor Ian Forward and Foundation Studies student Chris Crowther attended the Leeds in Bloom Awards Ceremony at Pudsey Civic Hall to accept a highly commended award for the spring judging rounds and a bronze for summer.

The grounds at the Peel Street Campus have recently been renovated by the PALS group, who also enlisted the help of the Morley based Horticulture Level 1 students and the NPTC Horticulture & Conservation group. The aim of the renovation was to improve the local environment and included designing a new look court yard with flower beds and seating. Students were responsible for sourcing and planting all trees, shrubs, climbers, plants and laying four tonnes of bark!
