About the course
This course provides an excellent opportunity for students to enter this exciting and creative world. This course is designed to help students launch a new career or progress their existing skills as a stylist.
What and how do you learn?
This course is designed to give students the skills and knowledge of a professional stylist and will include a selection of the following:
- Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp.
- Style & finish hair.
- Health & Safety.
- Basic cutting.
- Consultation.
- Promoting services and products.
- Change hair colour.
- Giving a positive impression to clients.
- Set and dress hair.
- Change hair colour.
- English, Maths and ICT.
Assessment
Practical assessments will be carried out on clients who visit the college salons. You will be required to meet minimum standards and timings set by the awarding body. Knowledge is assessed throughout the course in a variety of methods, including online testing, written tests and oral questions.
Qualifications needed to start
4 GCSEs Grades A*-C. Progression from NVQ Level 1 Hairdressing
