About the course

This 4 week Christmas inspired Floristry programme is designed to introduce you to the basics of practical floristry. You will be led by demonstrations and practical work, receiving individual feedback on your designs.

Leeds City College offers excellent facilities for studying Floristry in your spare time. Land Based Studies offers Animal Care & Management, Dog Grooming, Conservation, Floristry and Horticulture, and is based at our Horsforth Campus. This occupies 14 acres of green belt land on the edge of the city, and is unique as a horticultural education centre set in an urban environment.

The course includes all flowers and sundries.

What will I learn?

You will be led by demonstrations and practical work, receiving individual feedback on your designs.

You will produce:

  • A door garland.
  • A seasonal bottle arrangement.
  • A Christmas table arrangement.
  • A Christmas hand tied bouquet.

What are the entry requirements?

No entry requirements are necessary, but a strong interest in floristry is essential.

About the tutor(s)

The teaching team are experienced florists who have worked in the industry for many years. The team is led by Karen Longbottom who is a florist by trade and owns her own floristry business.
